Baltimore Ravens hat to the president of Tanzania

Ray Lewis presented a Baltimore Ravens hat to the president of Tanzania.

Thanks to a lingering foot injury and a spiking fever, former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis didn’t get to climb to the 19,341-foot peak of Mount Kilimanjaro this week. Instead, Lewis spent his time on the ground handing out hearing aids to children, visiting orphanages and hanging out with Tanzanian president Dr. Jakaya Kikwete.

Lewis got a chance to spend more than an hour with President Kikwete and presented the Tanzanian president with a gift: a purple Baltimore Ravens hat. If that whole London relocation thing doesn’t work out for the NFL, maybe Plan B can be moving the Ravens to Tanzania.

Although Lewis didn’t make the climb to the top of Kilimanjaro, Aldon Smith Authentic Jersey the rest of his team did. That group included Brad Pitt’s brother Doug and former Chicago Bears defensive lineman Tommie Harris. Lewis’ team — minus Lewis — reached the summit of Kilimanjaro on Monday.

Lewis had been planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro since May to raise money and awareness for clean water projects in East Africa.
